About the Job:

 

The Corix Group of Companies specializes in supplying products and utility solutions for sustainable utility infrastructure in the water, wastewater and energy sectors as well as providing field metering services.

 

Corix has an immediate opening for a regular full-time Technical Director, Energy Services at our Langley BC location reporting to the General Manager of Energy Services Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with corporate governance team and DE senior leadership to develop DE governance strategy, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and evaluation and adoption plans to ensure compliance with regulations, industry standards, and corporate governance strategy.
  • Oversees the implementation of governance strategies throughout DE operations, working with staff and supervisors to ensure best practices are adopted and KPIs are measured correctly and consistently, and assisting operations in identifying gaps in compliance and corrective actions needed.
  • Acts as a technical advisor in the development of technical operations documents that support the compliance of existing and new operations.
  • Works with management to ensure staff and contractors are qualified to perform work in facilities and infrastructure.
  • Works with business stakeholders to develop, document and oversee implementation of policies and procedures surrounding operational governance, including a Risk Management Framework. 
  • Communicates strategies with business stakeholders to assess end-to-end process performance and drive sustainable transformation (including operational efficiencies, and effectiveness gains), to execute the development of the action plan in support of the overall strategy.
  • Develops Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and sets targets for operations, managing project/initiative prioritization criteria, governance and key stakeholder approval, and analyzing performance data to identify critical issues and developing action plans to resolve problems.
  • Assesses risk to all DE operations, assisting staff to identify gaps in compliance and corrective actions needed to reduce or eliminate risk.
  • Works with management to ensure staff and contractors are qualified to perform work in facilities and infrastructure.
  • Provides technical advice to operational, managerial and supervisory staff to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Analyzes legislative and regulatory changes, modifying program components to ensure that they meet all current standards and legislative mandates established by federal and provincial regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or Power Engineers Certificate of Qualification 2nd Class Min) And;
  • 5 years related experience.
  • Large Plant (Steam /Process) experience would be an asset.
  • Electrical Certificate of Qualification would be an asset.
  • Broad knowledge of the Energy Industry including all applicable regulation, building requirements (commercial and residential).
  • Diversity in Geo, sewer recovery, biomass and gas.
  • Ability to understand and interpret and communicate Regulatory subject matters.
  • Demonstrate tact and professionalism and the ability to interact at all levels of management.
  • Ability to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and work well with staff as well as being a team player.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment , with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Software.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

 

 Working Conditions:

 

  • Office environment
  • 30-40% travel to Energy facilities
  • Must have passport and be able to travel to US locations
